Melissa and Wade by Hammett Photography

I recently discovered Hammett Photography based out of Spartanburg, SC. Their use of lighting in photographs is just phenomenal. I love how the couple looks so laid-back, wearing jeans and rainbows as their outfits of choice for their engagement shoot. If this is the culture in South Carolina, then I could fit right in!

A Kyle E-Session by Now and Then Photography

I love this sweet little engagement session by Now and Then Photography. The shoot is set in a small town outside of Austin called Kyle, TX. The first two pictures would be an adorable idea for a couple buying their first house together. The mailbox is just precious!

A Second Look

My absolute favorite image from this week is from Meg Perotti’s engagement session with Chris and Rosemary. Even my fiance fell in love with this photograph. The thing that really grabs me about this entire shoot is how much it tells you about the couple. A combination of literature and furniture builds a personality for the couple. The props clue you into what’s important to them but their comfortable demeanor hints that there is so much more. Its a peek into their home without ever setting foot into a house– a balance of intimacy and mystery.

Jeff and Jessica by Josh McCullock: Part Two

We’re back with more fabulous engagement photos from Josh McCullock. This morning I featured the beginning of Jeff and Jessica’s e-session. These photos are all about the bride. Everything from the groom’s gaze to the colors surrounding her direct the viewer to Jessica and her fabulous energy.

You guys are going to go crazy for this engagement session by Josh McCullock. The bride from these photos is unbelievably adorable. I love the way her bright yellow dress pops against the more neutral colors that surround her. Josh did a great job in capturing her beautiful radiance.

Check back with us in a bit for more photos of this sweet couple.

Joey and Ryan by Shannon Cunningham Photography

Today’s post is short, but each image is overflowing with style. These engagement photos of this oh-so-gorgeous and incredibly intelligent couple look like they could be stills from an upcoming movie. I don’t think I even need to tell you how much I’m in love with these photographs by Shannon Cunningham.

Gush! Many photographers claim to have a photojournalistic style but Shannon Cunningham truly manages to capture an intimate moment!

Rosemary and Chris by Meg Perotti

Welcome back. I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year’s celebration. Today I have an amazing engagement session to share with you by Meg Perotti. With help from Meg, Rosemary and Chris have taken an otherwise plain woodsy background and inserted bits of their personality into it.

The two rented a U-Haul and brought a bunch of their furniture and belongings out for this beautiful shoot. The photos instantly portray the couple’s love of music and literature. Plus, the implied romance and nostalgia of the old books is just divine. There are a lot more images to see over on Meg’s blog, so be sure to check it out!

Jimmy and Maggie by Dandy As Lions Photography

Alyssa from Dandy as Lions Photography sent me this oh-so-sweet engagement session that she took of a couple from Austin, TX. It’s always fun to see photographs that are trend-forward but sometimes it’s so refreshing to see a traditional style done well.

Jimmy and Maggie became friends while participating in the Longhorn Band at  The University of Texas. In 2005, after a long friendship, Jimmy finally got the nerve to ask Maggie on a date. Obviously, the relationship worked out fabulously.

When asked about how they got engaged, Maggie explained:

We casually discussed futures together after attending both of our sisters’ weddings. After we both excitedly knew we wanted to get married, Jimmy shocked me by saying, “well, I have a diamond.”  We looked for, and found the perfect setting for his great-grandmother’s diamond.  When the ring was ready we were engaged!

The setting they picked is lovely. I’m so happy for Maggie and Jimmy. It seems like they are truly meant for one another. Head over to Alyssa’s blog for more images from this shoot.

Have a safe and happy New Year.
